Villa Persephone is a comfortable two bedroomed family holiday villa with pool in Corfu, Greece. It is equipped for five people. There is air-conditioning throughout to keep the villa cool in summer or take the chill off the colder winter days. This family holiday villa with pool is relatively new (completed in 2006) and is set in a picturesque valley, amongst olive groves. The area around the villa is very quiet and peaceful. A driveway from the little used cul-de-sac leads to a parking area with ample space for four or five cars. There is a covered verandah at the front of the villa and a shaded pergola area at the rear. Also at the rear of the villa you will find an extensive patio area surrounding a seven by five metre swimming pool. The pool and patio area is surrounded by a stone wall or secure fencing for extra privacy and security. Outside the stone wall is a wilder area of land, often used by the local shepherd and his goats, grazing as they pass through. Many wild flowers can be found here.

A short walk along a country lane, through the olives, and you will find yourself in the square of the village of Agios Ioannis. The village is a centre for family holidays and, since it is exactly in the middle of the island, nothing is very far away! In the village square you will find a taverna, serving anything from a snack to a delicious full meal at reasonable prices. Parents relax there, chatting, sipping wine and nibbling, whilst watching their children play. A wide range of languages can be heard. Other tavernas, restaurants, a bakery, a pharmacy, a mini-market and a garage are all close by, with supermarkets a little further along the road. Beaches to the east and west of the island are no more than five kilometres away and it is a 15 minute drive or half an hour on the bus to Corfu Town, the island's capital.

There is something for everybody staying at Agios Ioannis. Although the village is a quiet family resort, those who want to 'live it up' will find just what they are looking for a short drive away and just two kilometres from Agios Ioannis is Aqualand, a large water park with a wide assortment of pools, rides and slides for all ages. A little further away is Corfu Golf Club.
